I don't think they're winning anything myself but we should at least see that a team with Lebron james and AD isn't trying to tank. I'd they were going to do that they should/would hsve gotten rid of everyone at the trade deadline. So even though championship is highly unrealistic that's the goal.

If I were a contender, I would not want to see the Lakers in the playoffs. Lebron gets a lot of criticism for marginalizing players and not enough credit for his ability to bring talent together and win.

I have almost no confidence in the Lakers as a contender. While I think they have a good chance of surviving the first 2 rounds... I don't know if they could put together an entire month of consistent high level play.

LeBron isn’t healthy so kind of a moot point. With the current roster they’re definitely a good team if everyone is healthy but their record is still so affected by the disastrous roster they had pre-trade they need LeBron healthy to do anything.

I hear you and you are 100% correct. I was just supposing a scenario they got into the playoffs and Lebron returned. He doesn't need to be the player he was for the Cavs... it would be unrealistic to expect that from him. What I was really trying to say is an extension of that point. I know we arent going to see the best Lebron but I still think hes capable of bringing the players around him up to their highest contributions towards winning ballgames. That's why I think the Lakers are a dangerous matchup... that is enough to get the job done vs anyone in the West because he has a supreme talent like AD to work with. He's got the skills and resources to make some noise this year
