lol there's nothing cryptic about that. He's telling the FO to get off their ass and do something. Him signing that extension this offseason was on the basis of Pelinka/Jeanie promising they would do everything in their power to field a competitive team. It was all BS, of course. And AD's injury has given them a convenient excuse to stand pat.

He's going down the Kobe path. He just hasn't hit that point that Kobe did in his last season where he completely stopped giving a fucc. For Kobe I think that happened when D'Angelo Russell arrived. For now at least it looks like Lebron's trying to win as the guy but when that moment comes where all hope is lost he will want to retire. Though I think he sticks around and phones it in if it means a chance to play with his son or there's something left on his stat totals checklist.

If LeBron had any notable sway then Caruso would still be a Laker, Derozan would've signed with LA in 2021, they wouldn't still be holding on to those 2 future first round picks and Jeannie wouldn't have been taking snide shots at him through twitter during the summer to justify her cheapness and lack of vision.

Standing pat is foolish imo. We have a chance to trade some assets for useful players right now and stay above the cap. Waiting for Westbrick to expire will leave us with ~42mill, and we still have to re-sign Lonnie Walker & Reaves within that. We will only have 20-21mill of cap then MLE and veterans contracts. We can't continue losing talent every year.

Derozan was never realistic because he was not going to sign for veterans minimum. S&T would have hard-capped us.

Letting Caruso go and keeping THT was a huuuuuuge mistake.
