Dantley scored more. The Jazz weren't good after they added Dantley. It took Griffith, Green, Bailey, Stockton etc. before they were good.

Jazz were tanking when Gobert emerged. He impacted both ends of the floor. They were a bad team without him on the floor. Carried a bad team furthur than they should have been

before last night they were projected to have 2 lottery picks. But Minnesota won't remain bad. Philly probably won't either but who knows with Embiid's injury history. Nets might remain bad

Without gobert, xiao expected the jazz to be somewhere around the 10th-11th seed after almost a month into the season. Only to find out they're currently sitting at #1 rn. I can feel his blood boiling inside him lol.

I am reminded of what happened to the Celtics when Ainge did the tanking trade with Brooklyn. The Nets picks ended up being better than any of the picks the Celtics got from team record. Ainge is bad at tanking because when he makes trades he insists on winning them so thoroughly. He just can't seem to make his team one of the worst. He needed to get rid of Markannen and Clarkson and not hire such a good coach. It isn't too late to get rid of the talent but if he trades them now it's too obvious and the Jazz fans may be getting attached.

Won less playoff series in 9 seasons than Boozer did in 6. Utterly forgettable era. One more 50 win season(by win percentage so not taking credit for shortened seasons) but one less playoff series win than the mid 90s Hawks. They won as much in the playoffs as the Wizards and nobody even remembers watching the Wizards win a playoff game in this era. Nothing the Jazz did in his entire career is worth including in a recap of the era. Not even in passing. Totally irrelevant squad that nobody will acknowledge existed in 10 years because there’s nothing to bring up even happening.

That said…Minnesota should obviously end up better than Utah.

the point is it doesn't mean much

bucks had an impressive shorthanded win in philly on opening night for example

sign of things to come for them more than luck it appears

depends on the return. Danny will trade anyone currently on the team for the right price. He traded a statue! Some of these guys would have already been gone but he didn't think the price was right. Better act quick on Clarkson. He will tank. Streakiest guy in the league. Once the vets are gone they will lose games. They hired the right coach at least for this point of the rebuild. We'll see once they have a much different team in a few years
