According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz are sending Gobert to the Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Balmaro, and rookie Walker Kessler.
The Timberwolves will also send the Jazz four future first-round picks, including unprotected picks in 2023, 2025, and 2027, and a top-five protected pick in 2029.

    Mitchell/Butler
    Walker-Alexander
    Balmaro/Juang
    Vanderbilt
    Udoka/Kessler

I'm assuming they will unload all the vets. Can't see keeping them with Gobert gone

Make no mistake, this is an enormous haul for Rudy - essentially five first-round picks, three young prospects (Beasley, Vanderbilt, and Bolmaro), and Patrick Beverley. It makes sense that roster spots had to be cleared to take on these players and so the team had to trade away Royce, waive Hernangomez, and not make qualifying offers to Eric Paschall and Trent Forrest. While some viewed Gobert and his contract as potentially hard to trade, Danny Ainge and co. have worked their magic to restock the Utah Jazz’s cupboard.
I think you can have up to 20 guys right now. They were getting rid of guys because they are blowing it up

The Jazz are retooling, not rebuilding https://t.co/cQ6b8maFgA

good luck with that! They just became one of the worst defensive teams in the league. They have never won without Gobert in the past 7 plus years

Posted this in another article, but per a NYP article on the Gobert trade: “Several reports on Friday indicated Utah is interested in Suns center Deandre Ayton, a restricted free agent, which would confirm that they don’t plan on tearing down.”

A young excellent offensive big with room to grow on defense with a new coach kinda sounds great after Rudy’s tenure…
I don't think you're going anywhere with Ayton/Mitchell on max deals

Ben Anderson: Honestly Rudy Gobert was a pleasure to cover, though. He was always honest, thoughtful, and respectful. Not to mention he’s probably the third best player in @Utah Jazz history. Definitely hope he finds success and happiness with Minnesota.

Andy Larsen: FWIW: I’m hearing some pushback regarding the idea that the Jazz are definitely keeping Donovan Mitchell moving forward. Sense is that the Jazz are keeping their options open here: they could retool around Mitchell, or trade him for a massive haul to jumpstart a rebuild. In particular, watch Miami. Obviously, Kevin Durant is their No. 1 target, but if that doesn’t work out, they have been and will continue to be aggressive re: Donovan Mitchell.

I think Herro might be better than Mitchell if he gets the chance. I'd want Bam though!

Certainly wasn't surprising that Minny got him after looking at all the assets they had in the trade machine

    https://www.nba.com/draft/2022/prospects/walker-kessler

    • Measured standing 7-foot-1 in shoes with a 256-pound frame and a 7-foot-6 wingspan at the 2022 NBA Draft Combine, Kessler has very good size for a center. His combination of mobility, timing, and his 9-foot-5 standing reach made him a presence around the rim on both ends as a sophomore.
Not quite Rudy length but like Udoka before him it sounds like he has Gobert like potential but so do lots of guys and most haven't come close

Leandro Bolmaro is Argentinian/Italian. I was a fan of that first generation Ginobi, Scola, Nocioni. Good size. Still young. Must like him because there were a lot of other young guys they probably could have gotten instead

this is probably a good scouting report from one of the Wolves writers

Bolmaro is a versatile wing who provides Minnesota with the varied skill set that all NBA teams are looking for. We saw it for glimpses this year and to varying effect, but at 6’6″, Bolmaro can handle the ball. While he may never develop into a primary ballhandler, Bolmaro can be a secondary playmaker and reset the offense when a play breaks down. He’s probably a more natural small forward, which fits right into Minnesota’s roster construction. The only other true small forward on the roster is Jake Layman, even if Jaden McDaniels is probably the Wolves’ (tall) small forward of the future.
sounds like Quin's type of player anyway

Bolmaro struggled with his jumper as a rookie, shooting a sub-par 27.1 percent from three in 11 G League games. However, he flashed some promise as a reliable three-point shooter before Minnesota drafted him 23rd overall in 2020. During his two-year stint with FC Barcelona, a teenage Bolmaro hit 41 percent of his threes, albeit on a very small sample size (35-for-85). Furthermore, it’s promising to see that Bolmaro has a feathery touch from the free-throw line. In his international career, he shot 84 percent from the charity stripe, 90 percent in the G League, and almost 85 percent (11-13) in the NBA. Again, it’s a small sample size, but it shows that he has a good shooting base to build off of. He has the tools to become a good shooter at all levels in the NBA.
looks like he's potentially a good shooter. Probably won't have much value without it!

Vanderbilt looks like a good rebounder and maybe defender? Not a good shooter. Kessler and the 3 unprotected picks look like the biggest part of the deal
