Default Harden bites the dust.. KD bites the dust... so mj is goat scorer... BY FAR

Harden is just a ball-dominator with no pull-up capability off a hard dribble, while KD is physically weak and lacks power or post MOVES

Otoh, the goat scorer had no weaknesses - he could overpower, pull-up, post or shoot 40% threes whenever he had 4+ attempts

    5 sub-.200 3pt% seasons
    9 sub-.300 3pt% seasons

Jimmychael Dejordon and his 2 pointers are not welcome in today's era. Next.

We don't know what Jordan can do over a career if he doesn't:

A: quit in the middle of his prime to take a break
B: Play on teams wheres he's not the best playmaker or defender, which means much less responsibility and mental/physical stress
C: play in the the weakest, most diluted era of basketball in history

We simply do not know. He very well could've been a top 5 scorer ever, but theres no evidence for it, and all the data shows LeBron is the best in the toughest era. LeBron has sustained it over 20 years with no breaks, and while having wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more responsibilities.

    Sorry 3ball

Jordan's 3s were a weakness and using the 4 or more attempts is irrelevant because it's such a small sample size.

And Jordan never had 4 attempts in a season his highest was 3.6 at 37%
    His best 3p season was
3.2 attempts at 43%. He's had 3 seasons of 3 or more attempts and only hit 40% or more 1 time.

Jordan shot well anytime he had more than bailout volume (more than 1.5 attempts)

This includes the 85-93' Playoffs (2 attempts at 35%), the 90' or 93' regular season (3 attempts at 36%), the 93' Playoffs (4 attempts at 39%) or the 92' Finals (5 attempts at 43%).

Notice how the percentage increases with volume - great shooting form will shoot better at higher volume (rhythm) - Jordan would have a shrug game every night at today's volumes (5-10 attempts per game).

    DPOY VOTING

    1988.... MJ (1st).... Pip (none)

    1990.... MJ (5th).... Pip (none)
    1991.... MJ (7th).... Pip (7th)

    1996.... MJ (5th).... Pip (2nd)
    1997.... MJ (5th).... Pip (4th)
    1998.... MJ (4th).... Pip (9th)

In addition to getting more DPOY votes than Pippen every year, Jordan averaged more assists than Pippen for their Finals career, playoff career and regular season career.

From what it looks like here, once Pippen became prime level he won twice, MJ won twice, and they tied twice.

Pretty even there. In 94 Pippen was 3rd behind Robinson and dream.

the gap in 93' clearly gives the edge to MJ

MJ blew Pippen away, while Pippen never did that to Jordan

So again, MJ was the best defender and guarded the opposing best player more often, while also being a far superior playmaker.. This is in addition to carrying the Bulls at unprecedented levels (scoring load)

You’re always so happy to take the “Jesus Christ I don’t have time for this bullshit” concessions.

    Enjoy

I proved that LeBron is the greatest scorer of all time already:

Not Jordan. Not Kareem. LeBron holds the official title of having scored the most points in NBA history on the NBA basketball court.

Jordan could not achieve this record.
Kareem held this record for 30 years until it was just broken by the greatest player / scorer of all time.

To surpass LeBron, the next human would have to:

Average 27ppg for 19 straight years averaging 71 games a season.
    +
Average 27ppg for 19 straight playoffs with an average games played of 15 games per playoffs.

    Impossible. Unbreakable.

Remind me who MJ was “overpowering” in the 80’s when one of his biggest stories is of how he had to bulk up?

MJ NEVER PLAYED ANYONE, during his winning years, that had anyone that had to make him work as a defender. There are NO great scorers at his position from his 6 winning 90’s years. NONE! Wait…I take that back before someone gets on here talking about Grant Hill, Mitch Richmond, or even Clyde.. Hill and Richmond never were competitive. Clyde played in the West and I don’t think he holds any scoring records.

Today’s players are three level scorers that are explosive off the dribble and at the rim. Not only that, but there is at least 3 or more players like that on pretty much EVERY TEAM. Players have to be extraordinary to be in the league at the guard or wing position now. There’s no coming from a grocery store, John Starks, and starting in the league.
