Finals appearances were never previously used as a metric for determining the GOAT, that is until Lebron and his retarded fanbase realized they couldn't use ring count for his case.

No, I never considered Kareem or Karl Malone to be better scorers than Wilt, Shaq, Barkley, Dirk, Melo, KD, Iverson, LeBron, Kobe and especially Jordan.

Longevity is awesome. Doesn’t mean you were the best however. Sometimes it just means you’re the last one standing.

    That includes overrated ass Kareem.

In Jordan’s case it wasn’t due to lack of durability.

Y’all LeBrontards should be thanking your lucky stars he retired last 1.75 years of his physical prime in 1994 and 1995.

Then also that the man didn’t decide to hang on and not play the game to win, the way LeBron has lately, and just put up hollow numbers without playing defense in ‘99, ‘00, and ‘01

Longevity is obviously a great thing and players should get credit for it, but it should not be used in the GOAT argument if you're putting up stats on losing teams that can't even make the Play-In tournament. Malone still led his teams to the POs & had some 50+ win seasons at 36-38, Kareem won FMVP at 38, Duncan went to B2B Finals at 37/38 and was still a great impact player and was as good as prime/peak Lebron in the '13 Finals through the first 6 games. Bran can still get his numbers and while that's great for his basketball-reference page and his career totals, he's not helping his team win games & make the Playoffs. As long as everyone acknowledges that, we can give Bran his due for still putting on a show but also recognize that he's no longer a good defender and can no longer carry a team to the Playoffs as the #1 guy. He's still a top 15-20 player in the league but we need to stop acting like he's 1st Team All-NBA or as good as his prime self because of his averages, he's clearly not on that level anymore.

The alts have specialized into spawning new GOAT criteria that never existed before, all because LeBron ruined their lives.
My favorite piece of comedy the alts invented is something called "finals winning percentage", which implies that it would be better to lose in the 1st round than the finals. They actually think this is a good "argument" against LeBron.

If you use his Finals appearances to make his GOAT case, then we are also allowed to criticize him for his Finals losses and how weak his Conference was in some of those years. Of course it's better to make the Finals, but if you're playing in a Conference that has 1-3 All-NBA players (who aren't even top 5 in the league) outside of your team, you SHOULD make the Finals as the ATG, especially if you're on a stacked/good team.

Using Finals appearances like they're comparable to winning the whole thing is just wrong, especially if your guy played in the much weaker Conference and was a lock almost every year as there just wasn't any real competition for a good half a decade there.

Who was the best player in the EC overall from '12 - '18, other than Lebron or someone he teamed up with?

or why Magic is ranked of Bird by some.

Ppl thought that the Lakers were going to make the finals this year because of the cast.

No one thought that the GSW was going to do much with their cast. Some b-ball fans thought the Lakers cast wouldn't fit, but not necessary it was a lacking in talent.

The reason why it didn't work out because it was a bad fit and they were old.

Like how are the Clippers without Kawhi, PG and dealing with injuries throughout the season has a better record than the Lakers. It's not because of talent, that's for sure. The Lakers offense sucked, defense was mediocre. You would do better with lesser talent with a better fit than more talent. Some of that has to do with the coach. It's not Vogel's team in terms of fit.

On to the topic, what LeBron did is amazing. Like ppl said, Kareem and Karl Malone get praise for their longevity and LeBron is better than both of them at this stage. I think ppl who used to praise longevity but don't with LeBron might be hating. With that said, this year Lakers team was the most disappointing superteam ever.

Kareem & Duncan’s longevity were based on clean living.

LeFraud’s is based on needles and pills.

All those players you mentioned are beloved by the NBA community and fans

lebron on the other hand is a disgrace to the game of basketball. And disrespected by majority of his peers and 90% of the fan base lol

He's just way more polarizing so there's alot of hate but he gets alot praise for his longevity too. I remember mj gettong alot of hate for his wizard years even though he was pretty damn good for a 40 year old. At the end of the day though he wasn't good or healthy enough to win so the criticism imo was fair since you play to win. It's no different for bron right now.
