I knew about the X Band because they were promoted on video game magazines. Such as Game Pro and EGM.

For some reason the mentioning of the X Band only really brings back memories of a lock on battery powered cartridge device that would save the state of your current Super Nintendo session for 36 hours. I would like to know what that was.

The one thing that I didn't know about back then, that blew my mind was that there was an actual device for the Super Nintendo that would save and play cartridges on floppy disks. Having such a device at that time would have been amazing.
