Jimmy is better. This game confirms it. A player who isn't even an all-NBA selection in today's league is better than jordon's main competition at the shooting guard position. Let that sink in.
" this game confirms it" spoken like the true prisoner of the moment you are. I literally entered this thread to see if someone said this. No surprise it was this fool lol

Shit like this... You're an asshat if you truly believe this.
Yeah bro... basketball is just getting worse. Players are getting worse. Before was better. Just like how every sport has regressed. Not like 100m times have come down. Or swimming times have come down. Or how powerlifters are stronger now? Or how Olympic lifters are stronger than ever.
Nah man. Basketball is the only sport getting worse. And Clyde Drexler would average 40. **** 35.
You don't have to like the product the game is today. But you're deadset stupid if you think players are worse. Just about every player on the court can do 3 fold what players back 30 years ago could.
And Jimmy Butler>Clyde.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Clyde Drexler or Jimmy Butler?
Clyde was the better athlete: driver, dunker, finisher etc but Butler is impressing me alot. He is probably a better defender than Clyde.

Oddly enough, you didn't seem to be anywhere near as upset about being a prisoner of the moment when this thread was bumped in anti-Jimmy fashion after Jimmy had a bad game.

Re: Clyde Drexler or Jimmy Butler?
Career Jimmy - 18/5/4 - 690 games
Career Drexler - 20/6/6 - 1086 games
Jimmy is the better defender and possibly better peak player (maybe) but his career numbers will dip. Clyde def so far has had the better career in totality.
Peak 8 year stretch
Jimmy - 21/6/5
Drexler - 23/7/6
Pretty arguable tbh. Especially considering Drexler played on some stacked teams relative to era and Jimmy is def the better defender.
And just remember the 2020 NBA Finals matchup of LeBron vs Jimmy
Jimmy - 26/8/10 on 55%
LeBron - 30/12/9 on 59%
That’s a duel right there. Almost equal levels of production at the same positional matchup. A stand still almost. But check this
‘92 Finals Drexler - 25/8/5 on 41%
‘92 Finals Jordan - 36/5/7 on 53%

Basketball isn't a pure athletic sport based on speed and strength and measurables like track or swimming or weight lifting. Theres a very heavy skill component which is why a guy like Jokic can be an MVP while not being elite in any athletic measurable. Besides just being huge.
Its without a doubt easier to score and play offense today with every role player being a sniper... the spacing. It makes it far easier for star players attacking the basket or creating their own shot.
Combined with the soft ass fouls and flopping culture... its pretty much a breeze for most stars to score nowadays.
And that takes us to Clyde. His nickname was literally "the Glide". He had MJ level athleticism and slashing ability. This era would be perfect for him with the driving lanes he would be afforded.

It's definitely an intriguing discussion, given recent events. I'm not sure; Clyde seems to be the comfortable pick, but Jimmy's an enigma. He's hard to measure as a talent.

Re: Clyde Drexler or Jimmy Butler?
Clyde in 92 was runner-up MVP behind a prime Jordan in a tougher defensive era.Jimmy at best would be a 15-18 ppg scorer back then but he'd have more freedom on the defensive end.

Re: Clyde Drexler or Jimmy Butler?
Jimmy is one of the most inconsistent players I have EVER seen. When he's right, he plays like a near BITW. When he's not, he's a complete non-factor and looks completely uninterested. Just kind of puzzling to be honest. Why is his effort so inconsistent?

I wouldn't even call him inconsistent, more like enigmatic. I'd call someone like PG inconsistent, but his play generally evens out over the long haul. Butler goes from playing like a top 15-20 player to, as you said, looking like the best player in the world on any given night, which is something we've seen on several occasions during these playoffs. His performance last night, and Games 3 & 5 in the 2020 Finals, were literally as good as some of the top 10 players of all time. If the Heat make the Finals, I'm not even sure you could definitively call Curry the best player in the series. And I have legitimately NO idea what to expect from Butler tomorrow He could drop 40, he could have 15, neither would even be that surprising to me.
