Those characters and their original humor gimmicks are 80+ years old now. They were cable reruns in the early and mid 1990's so when Space Jam came out in 1996 those cartoons still kinda had a place but even then looney tunes looked awkward being taken out of 1945 context and thrust forward into 1996.

Kids watch everything on demand now entertainment is not pushed by some old senior network producer so other than YouTube I don't even know where you can watch classic loony tunes... My understanding is kids waaaay prefer shit like paw patrol and spongebob many kids don't even know who daffy duck is.

The timing of Space Jam 2 to coincide with its resurgence is not coincidental.

The movie is a guaranteed moneymaker with families and it doesn't even need to get good reviews. Parents will stream it by the millions for their kids just because it's safe and friendly and something new to stream.
