The first basketball game I attended was in 1963 (I barely remember the night because I was five). The Lakers vs the Cincinnati Royals. . . . at the Los Angeles Sports Arena (before the Forum was built), which meant their uniform colors were blue and white . . . . featuring Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. . . . . vs Oscar Robertson.
My father's two favorite players were Bill Russell and Elgin Baylor. He was smooth like a pool shark. He made it seem like you had a chance to defend him.
