Yeah this is the 2nd time he quit on us. Some may say that its regular season but come on, how can we be sure he wont pull this in a playoffs series? So we are going to game 7 with the Bucks or 76ers with the season on the line, and Irving decides he doesnt want to play because he needs to prepare for a birthday party of a friend or a distant relative. This is nonsense, our FO have worked hard to build a good team culture but Irving has destroyed it all. No matter how we perform in the playoffs this season, Irving needs to go in off-season. I am tired of this, really really tired.

This time off that he is taking directly coincides with his birthday. I wouldn't be surprised if he is taking this time off to celebrate his birthday with family & friends. With the Blazers & Jazz this is definitely not the right time for this but if he is going through personal things you can't fault the guy. The Nets need to start thinking how soon their big 3 can get on the court together to build some chemistry.
