Las Vegas' last-ditch attempts to trade Rodney Hudson have netted the Raiders a decent bit of compensation.

The Raiders have finalized a deal that is sending Hudson and a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2021 third-round selection, the Cardinals announced after it was initially reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported.

Las Vegas had been prepared to release Hudson on Tuesday, a move that made little sense both financially and strategically. At 31 years old, Hudson is still a very effective center, and releasing him wouldn't offer the Raiders much financial incentive to make the move palatable.

Giants expected to bring in FA WR Kenny Golladay for visit
    https://www.nfl.com/news/giants-wr-k...ay-free-agency

Kenny Golladay's market hasn't been as quick to pursue him as anticipated, but it appears he's at least inching toward finding a new home.

The Giants have been in talks with Golladay and expect to bring him in for a visit prior to signing him to a deal, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the situation.

Golladay departed Detroit after the Lions declined to use the franchise tag to retain him, leaving the Motor City as the Lions' top receiver with a market that was expected to be strong. As has been the case with other notable receivers, teams haven't quite driven the Brinks truck to Golladay's doorstep, though, leading to slower progress on identifying a new destination for the former third-round pick.

Golladay would provide a needed boost to New York's receiving corps, which is headlined by Darius Slayton and includes recent signing John Ross, but could use an additional playmaker. Golladay fills that need, bringing with him over 3,000 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in just 47 games played. His last full season (2019) saw him post his second straight 1,000-yard campaign and his best career year, scoring 11 times and doing so while only having Matthew Stafford around for half of a season.

Should he sign with the Giants, he'll have a new, younger quarterback to get to know in Daniel Jones. It's likely Jones will be happy about Golladay's visit, and even more pleased if Golladay doesn't leave without signing on the dotted line.

The Washington Football Team has strengthened its Panthers ties with their latest free agent signing.

The team is expected to sign free-agent receiver Curtis Samuel to a three-year deal worth $34.5 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per an informed source.

Around The NFL will have more on this shortly.

Colts are bringing back Marlon Mack for $2mill/1yr. They are in talks with TY Hilton and CB Xavier Rhodes.

It pretty much seems guaranteed we are using our 1st rounder to draft a LT. We still need 2 edges so idk what the hell is going on there. We have no pass rush at present. Carlos Dunlap and the injury-prone Clowney are our best option and bringing back Justin Houston.

Decent backup for Josh Allen. I wonder why the 49ers didn't want him? Guess they are going all in on Watson.

The Cardinals have found their short-term replacement for Patrick Peterson.

Arizona has agreed to terms with veteran corner Malcolm Butler on a one-year deal, the team announced. Butler's contract is worth up to $6 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Butler became a free agent when the Tennessee Titans released him to clear cap space following a solid 2020 season in Nashville. The free agent market at the position wasn't especially deep, but at 31 years old, Butler wasn't the most coveted corner available.

Butler does bring immediate value to the Cardinals, though, who were looking to fill the void left by the departure of Peterson, who signed with the Vikings after 10 seasons in the desert. He'll be expected to step into a starting role opposite Robert Alford, with Byron Murphy returning as nickel corner.

With four interceptions to his name and his second-best coverage grade of his career (per Pro Football Focus) in 2020, Butler proved he can still step up to make key plays for his team. Arizona's all-in approach to 2020 welcomes Butler's type of player at this stage in his career. We'll learn this fall whether he can continue his level of production and help the Cardinals reach the postseason.

FRISCO - How did Dallas Cowboys safety target Malik Hooker's visit to The Star work out?

"Let's say the visit went great,'' the former Colts first-rounder tweeted at about 2:20 p.m. CT. "Always grateful for the opportunities in general. Now control what I can control and hope what's meant to be will be.''

Hooker and Damontrae Kazee were to engage in interviews and medicals, with a source having told CowboysSI.com that those visits would take place on Wednesday here at The Star in Frisco, after a Tuesday DFW arrival.

Cowboys about to get themselves a Hooker.

Lamar Jackson has a new target in Baltimore.

The Ravens are signing free-agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal worth $6 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports, per a source. Watkins' deal includes $5 million fully guaranteed, according to Rapoport.

The signing of Watkins marks the first significant upgrade of Jackson's weapons this offseason. The Ravens ranked last in the league in passing yards per game (171.2) in 2020 and Jackson has yet to have a prominent wideout to throw to since his inception into the league. A prominent receiving threat has been a glaring need for Baltimore since Jackson took over at quarterback, seeing as how the last time a Ravens wideout has eclipsed 1,000 yards was when Mike Wallace did it in 2016.

Watkins spent the last three seasons in Kansas City, accruing 129 receptions for 1,613 yards and eight touchdowns in 34 games with the Chiefs. The seven-year veteran didn't top more than 700 yards in a season during his tenure in K.C. thanks to several minor injuries, but Watkins was a key figure for the Chiefs in the playoffs, especially in the team's Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2019.

Ranked No. 52 on Gregg Rosenthal's Top 101 Free Agent list, Watkins, 27, has the opportunity to establish himself in Baltimore and could be rewarded with a bigger contract after a prove-it deal. Paired with a speed threat in Marquise Brown, Watkins is expected to be the Ravens' No. 1 wideout and his veteran leadership could be of great significance for a corps that has struggled in years past.

After catching passes from one league most valuable player in Kansas City, Watkins will be a weapon for another one in Baltimore. Only time will tell if he can help bring the same type of success.

No posts on Darnold to the Panthers yet?
    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-3-draft-picks

Every year there is massive hype train for 5 draft QBs. But one plays average on a bad team then gets labeled a bust. Darnold has higher upside than any other 2021 QB not named Trevor Lawrence or Zach Wilson.

Average player. We will see how he does with a better organization, but I certainly don't see a star in him. Relative to the hype we were seeing for him, he looks like a bust. I will give him another chance with Panthers before calling him a bust.
