GSW, SAC, NYK, and BOS Trade Scenario
GSW receives: 2021 SAC unprotected 1st round pick, 2022 SAC 1st round pick swap, 2023 SAC unprotected 1st round pick, 2024 SAC 1st round pick swap, 2022 BOS top 4 protected 1st round pick, 2022 NYK 2nd round pick, Aaron Nesmith, and Jabari Parker (expiring contract)
SAC receives: Klay Thompson
NYK receives: Kelly Oubre
BOS receives: Harrison Barnes
GSW really needs to focus on tanking. The Nets are a juggernaut so it would be prudent to focus on tanking. There are no guarantees with the lottery but the best case scenario is they can end up with 3 top 5 picks in the 2021 NBA Draft (MIN pick, SAC pick, and their own pick). They would have to reduce Curry and Draymond's minutes to make it happen. They would also have to make them sit out games more often. Imagine getting Cade Cunningham (1st pick), Jalen Suggs (4th pick), and Jalen Green (3rd pick). They would have Cunningham, Suggs, Jalen Green, and Wiseman + additional picks for the future. This could be their next dynasty.
SAC may do this trade because they are desperate to get an all star. They aren't an attractive free agent destination. Durant and John Wall have recovered very well form their achilles tears so Klay's injury isn't a major factor with current medical technology.
Boston is rumored to be targeting Harrison Barnes so this deal makes sense for them.
Knicks rent Oubre for the playoffs in exchange for a 2nd round pick. They will also have his bird rights.

Why would the Warriors tank when they still have Curry

Im not a fan of the Cs acquiring Barnes. I dont see how he is the missing piece.

Curry will turn 33 on March 14th. I think he only has 3 more years as an MVP caliber player. The Nets if they stay healthy will likely 3 peat. The Warriors need to wait out the Nets dynasty. Curry and Draymond can severe as mentors to the young players. Maybe Curry can win one more as old guy like Duncan.
Curry
Jalen Green
Cunningham
Dray
Wiseman
6th man: Suggs
Suggs can extend Curry's career. Curry can reduce his minutes to 24 - 27 per game as he ages.

He is their rumored target for the TPE. They don't have the assets to trade for star. Barnes can play small ball center. He is shooting 49 FG% and 39 3P% this season.

On second thought I would modify the trade to include Nemanja Bjelica instead of Jabari Parker. He is on the trade block. The Heat are interested for their TPE. GSW would trade Bjelica to MIA for their TPE and a 2022 2nd round pick.
The Kings without Barnes and Bjelica along with Klay still out for the year might end up with the worst record in the NBA which would guarantee GSW at least the 5th pick from SAC.

How do they beat Philly and Embiid?

Re: GSW, SAC, NYK, and BOS Trade Scenario
GSW is currently on a 3 game losing streak. The Clippers, Jazz, and Lakers are their next 3 opponents. They will likely extend their long streak to 6 games and have a 19 - 21 record soon. They are currently 4.5 games back from the 5th worst record in the NBA. Going for 3 top 5 picks this year isn't guaranteed but it's definitely possible with this trade.

They probably won't beat philly. Boston won't let their TPE expire without getting something in return Barnes seems like the name that comes up most often. It's a good deal for the price Nesmith and a 2022 1st round pick.
