They need to update the obstacle course in the skills competition. These players are too afraid of looking uncool by actually trying. Maybe put a trampoline somewhere or a pool of sharks somewhere

They should get rid of the skills competition and replace it with a fitness or fashion contest. A lot of these guys put as much work into their wardrobe as they do on the court. Imagine harden and Westbrook facing off on the catwalk? In addition some of these players have incredible physiques. Imagine a Mr Universe type pageant with the likes of LeBron, jimmy butler and Dwight Howard, strutting around bare chested. I would love to be a judge on that panel.
