Warriors and Celtics trade scenario
Warriors receive: TPE and Nesmith
Celtics receive: Oubre and Looney
GSW can tank and the Celtics can make a playoff push.

Celtics are already a playoff team. What does this trade improve for Boston?

Oubre has been red hot. February (15 games): 20.1 ppg, 50.2 FG%, 43.0 3P%, 114 ORtg. His defense has been very good all season. Oubre is only 25 years old and the Celtics can re-sign him since they will have his bid rights.
Looney is a proven performer in the playoffs. He can provide defense and rebounding.
A small ball lineup to close out games when Smart returns can be effective.
Walker
Smart
Oubre
Brown
Tatum

Re: Warriors and Celtics trade scenario
Tatum at center is not effective. Embiid and Simmons would destroy that in the paint. Celtics have enough guards. Neither guy makes much difference and Looney might not even play. Ainge needs to make a deal for a star not another sg and a roleplayer the average fan has barely even heard of.

The Celtics don't have the assets to land a star. Harrison Barnes is probably the best case scenario for the TPE + picks.

They may not get a star but there's no reason to do the deal you are talking about. No benefit. Might as well keep the YPE and save money.
