Good college starter
Are the Jazz another 2016 Atlanta Hawks?
Mike Conley just made the All Star team for the first time. This reminds me of when Kyle Korver made the All Star on the Hawks. The Hawks had 4 or 5 All stars, heck they were all player of the week one time. But the Hawks ended up getting swept in the East.
My friend said he couldn't name any stars on Utah. Was Rudy Gobert ever considered an All star type player? I guess you could say Donvan Mitchell? But time has went by so fast, that I don't even remember Mitchell coming up.
They don't have like a KD or Antetokounmpo. Yet, they have the best record.

What do they need to do to shed that label? Make the Conference Finals?

2016 hawks never won more than 50 games nor made it to the conference finals

He was probably pertaining to the 60 win hawks team with the same group and he tried to remember it off memory and missed it by a year.

This. You mean the 2015 Hawks, with Millsap, Korver, etc.

Answering your question, we will see, IIRC those Hawks had lots of injuries in the post-season, including the Thabo Shefolosha who had a bizarre incident with the police.

Yes, they are like the Hawks.
I don't think the Jazz are going to finish the season with the best record.

Re: Are the Jazz another 2016 Atlanta Hawks?
Utah, is way way scarier than Atlanta was.
I’m gonna bump this in the summer, but Utah’s been a good playoff team for years now.
They would always start off poorly against Houston but by the middle of the series, they’d always out-execute them. They just didn’t have the talent to make that matter. Now they’ve gotten better on both ends.
And Mike Conley has been the quietest playoff SUPERSTAR of the era. Crazy impact metrics, crazy hot shooting series his past several playoff runs. He can lead their offense to a title like Billups or Isiah easily.
Or get hot like Prime Terry Porter and just how upset some evenly matched teams.
LAL already has a bad time with quick guards, it’s gonna be hellish for them.
NOT to mention what Mitchell did offensively last year.
Atlanta was very good but only good, and really relied on Korver having a crazy two-way year. Didn’t have a Gobert or Conley level player. Didn’t have much of a bench. And to top it off played in a far weaker conference. Not close to comparable.

Titles are overrated
Re: Are the Jazz another 2016 Atlanta Hawks?
Could be the Hawks. Could be the 04 Pistons. They have the talent...and these days? It’s not impossible Mitchell goes insane and scores 40 a game to get them a series they don’t deserve.

2015-16 season. They won like 60 games the same year the Warriors won 73. I remember it like yesterday.
