Historic Most Improved Player discussion thread
Why did Pippen never win Most Improved Player?
Did Pervis, college great but considered a huge bust for most of his pro career, really step up his game that much in 1991-92? One of his best games was from that season, against the Knicks - the scorer's report for the game is in the 1992 Knicks playoff guide - with a slash of 19/19/6/2/5.
Do you think Muresan deserved the award in 1995-96?
For their career, who is your Most Improved Player?

Like of all time or just between those players?
Giannis is the most improved player of all time I think. I think he's the only one to win the award to ever win MVP. And he won DPOY.
I think Billups deserves of shoutout too.

Pacers had a ton of those type of players in their history, probably the most of all the teams.

McGrady and Jermaine O'Neal won the awards as well. In back to back seasons I wanna say.

It's interesting because Jermaine improved astoundingly, but then for all we know, for his career as whole, Jermaine could have been a much better player, and no one could figure out why he didn't perform better in the second half of his career.

I just realized now that how the mip award works is weird. There are many top 10 picks from their respective years who have won the award but at the same time, there are some guys who are around top 30 and above like jokic that have improved vastly throughout the years yet have never won the said award.

It just sucks that injuries ruin a lot of guys careers. Still feel for Grant Hill, T-Mac, Penny, Bill Walton, Bird and D.Rose. Howard too.

Yeah feel bad for the guys that never even reached their peak or had a good enough team to contend before injuries decimated their careers.
