Tatum can't get from point A to point B smoothly. There's always too much dribbling and it just ends up with a stepback three. Lavine can make shots. I would give the edge to Tatum on defense though.

Tatum doesn't know how to pass and be a playmaker. Yet, Ainge keeps pairing up scoring point guards (irving, kemba) with him for some reason. I think that may be the real issue here. Not everybody can lead elite offenses without a point guard like Kawhi does.
