Default This style of play. Something you might be interested in?

I realize only 4 of you would know who that is without the title of the video and that’s fine. He wasn’t a big name...though he did have some good scoring seasons. 28ppg one year. One 6 day stretch in 1984 he had 40, 48, and 59 points. Midrange pull-up specialist. Made 125 threes in his entire career.

With no more information than that would you welcome such a player onto your modern offense? If so....6th man?

You ok starting a non athletic 6’6” midrange shooter who won’t do much else? Or is that not worth it anymore?

He had a beautiful rainbow jumpshot.

A transition mid-range might be frowned upon in this era, but it's really about the talent of the team. If Jokic gets to spot up for mid range and shoot mid range jumpers then I don't see why Short wouldn't be used in a similar manner. Some teams now might even put him at the 4 at times to space the floor.

if he's raining buckets and giving nothing else he'd be a taller midrange lou will

floor spacers need to be good defenders to see time on the court. even a guy as skilled as lou will gets exploited by other teams. lou will isnt 6'7 though

KBlaze with the goods. More of this, please.

If this guy can play defense, rebound and pass decently I think he would be fine in todays game. Efficient shooting is efficient shooting.

It's a shame guys don't get names like Purvis anymore these days.

People complain that it's all 3-point shooting now, but most of the shots that have been excised were spot-up 2's anyways. Lots of these guys would be taking the same shots, but 2 steps back.

    That video was cool.

The pace they were playing seemed more like the modern game than 90's basketball does.

Bernard King would be a better example of a midrange assassin. Led the league in scoring one year. Didn't take 3s and wasn't taking it all the way to the rim that often.
