Ayton isn't there yet. he may have a higher ceiling than Gobert, but Rudy is playing DPOY defense right now. Ayton is still learning but making leaps defensively and anchoring the Suns defense, but in all honesty, the reason the Suns defense is so good is also because of Mikal Bridges. It's a combined effort between Ayton+Mikal and the rest of the team buying into playing team defense, but Mikal and Ayton are carrying the majority of the defensive load at the moment.

Through 6 games, Mikal Bridges is averaging 15.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3 threes, 1.3 blocks, .8 steals while shooting 53.3 FG%, 50 3PT%, 100 FT%. And he has ZERO TURNOVERS thus far.
he's going to come down to earth sooner or later, but yeah, i think philly is lamenting that trade rn lol.

Shai and Porter were available so again who knows who they would have actually taken if they'd kept the pick and not drafted for the Suns

i think they would have gotten bridges regardless (or shai being a close 2nd). i think with their history of injury riddled players they would have steered clear from porter. plus, they love their wings. and he shot 40% from 3 in college. would have fit like a glove. 3 n D...

Yh but they should have just drafted and held onto him, he's a perfect fit on any team because of his shooting and defense

Obviously they traded down for a reason. Maybe they had tax issues? It was known before the 2013 draft that Denver wanted to sale their first round pick because they didn't want the guaranteed contract and had a good team already. Do they regret not picking Gobert who they may or may not have taken with the pick anyway?
