    otoh, the Finals standard in the 90's was 1 or 2-star teams, so many teams were Finals-caliber and the margins between teams were razor-thin or non-existent..

    that's why the west alternated champions every year - each year some team would have everything go just right and have the edge - the next year it would be another team.. so mj was beating freight trains that had everything going for them heading into the Finals.

    ultimately, it's tougher to play in a league with many Finals-caliber teams than being 1 of 2 Finals caliber yes with big 3's
