Having a good back-up QB worked out for them last time.

can't trust Carson to stay healthy.

He played 16 games last year, just received 128 million dollar deal last summer. This pick makes absolutely no sense. You don't take a QB in the 2nd round when you just paid your young QB tons of money to be your franchise QB.

It's a bad pick... but not horrible in my opinion... Only because Hurts is a really good QB that can step in and actually win games if Wentz is out for a few weeks, and you can always trade him later.

Sometimes it's good to invest in a back up QB.... Sometimes. Again, it's a bad pick, but not awful.

Yup.. Jalen Hurts is Taysom Hill

Eagles are gonna use him as a short yardage/gimmick player

I'm curious if the Cowboys tried to trade down with that pick. They were holding a ticket to a guy who many people thought was a top ten player in this years draft. They could have traded and picked up two or three quality picks in return. That would have really given restocking the defense a jump-start. On the other hand Jerry loooooooves his offense, so it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even consider a trade.

admittedly I think Ruggs would've been the better fit on this team based on his speed, but Lamb will still give us some advantages that Ruggs would not be able to.

I had thought it was very possible Ruggs could slip to 17, but it ended up being Lamb... was wondering what the Cowboys would do in that situation.

We still have a few holes on defense, and could use about 2 more star players on that side of the ball, but now the offense has a chance to be elite.

I can see Zeke & Pollard and even Blake Jarwin benefitting from this very nicely.

Works out great because we've shown in the past that we aren't that great on offense if Cooper is off the field. Very good insurance policy to have on our $100 million dollar receiver.
