Has anyone been owned that hard in a sports debate? If anyone has please link.

EDIT - Though I don't agree with everything he says. Like the "Lebron wouldn't do that[talk himself up]" part. I think he def could do that.

No, rightfully protective of something that was clearly earned, and not given or false promoted or self promoted IE LeAttention Whore.

Mike didn't control the making of the documentary, production, marketing, or when it's released. The original date got pushed back to begin with. ESPN is in control, they wanted to release it in June after the initial push back.

Now is just a perfect time to release it, for maximized viewership when absolutely nothing else is going on. Especially as a distraction for the country with all the anxiety and fear going on.

More correctly, Bill Simmons thinks MJ chose to release this documentary to protect his legacy from the ignorance of LeBron fans.

On the video clip Simmons says Espn approached Mj about doing this in 2009, said he had zero interest until after 2016, when the Lebron/Mj debate really caught fire. So you're wrong on several fronts here, Mj have carefully controlled his image for decades already.

I fully expect you to explain to me how MJ's insecurity is somehow better than Lebron's here.

Not as hyped about this like I originally was.

Sure its some kind of basketball for us fans, and I think it'll be well made. The behind the scenes footage should also be interesting. 6 hours on THAT season alone though? Would've been cool to see a FULL doc time lapsing the 90s.

MJ has had enough of LeBron tugging on the cape. He can't play but he can allow a small snippet of his career to get out there that will go further than LeBron fans and some complicit media pointing to box scores and cliches to keep them in the same breath when MJ doesn't think he belongs there. Bill Simmons agrees with that and even got long time hater Colin Cowherd to stop the bullsh*t for two seconds and admit the truth: this video will end the debate.

LeBron feels the heat. That's why he wants to put his stuff out there, produced and directed by himself.

Bingo, if anyone is insecure ... it's Mr. Insecure himself Le3fer9.

He's the one who created shows like "The Shop" full of nothing but agreeable circle jerk yes men (the total anti thesis of real barber shop talk) and shut up and dribble shows.

Equated himself to Muhammed Ali as a social activist

Shows where he literally without self awareness and total narcissism called himself the GOAT, and had all his paid cronies agree with him on tape. It's pathetic.

MJ didn't control the doc. He wasn't willing to work with Simmons ... AT THE TIME. The NBA controls the footage. And release of said footage. Jordan is known to be distant, and not hogging of spotlight or agreeable to many interviews. Especially post retirement.

Jordan is probably fed up post 2016, with Bron's paid media talking heads attempting to tear down his legacy to prop up a more factual LOSER to not only be on his level, but better? At some point you have to put your foot down.

LeBron recognizes this, feels the heat and in his MASSIVE already established insecurity like the self promoting attention whore he is ... NOW wants to talk about his best games and release it? Right as the 30 for 30 Jordan Last Dance doc is finally coming out? A little odd wouldn't you say?

Do you know how egotistical that sounds? Jordan didn't MAKE his documentary or sit down and talk about his individual exploits or games. And it's about the team as a whole as well. Why would Le3fer9 want to make a mini doc on his own exploits when he still has the ability to play out his career?

Mike is done. Set in stone. He's talking about his LAST season 22 years later. Bron is still playing. The context is entirely different. Guy is an insecure clown.
