It makes sense due to Portland having the Whiteside contract. A nice boon for matching and probably the only avenue they have towards getting a true upgrade. After royally screwing up this offseason, this may be a solid if unspectacular chance to save some face. Ignoring injury woes, since you should almost never cave into those, it’s still a move that Portland should heavily consider.

Edit: As long as they dont have to give up Collins or Simons

I think they wanna go the D'antoni route and outscore everyone til Nurkic comes back. Stotts is a good defensive coach, he hides Lillard and CJ p well even though they're shit. Losing Harkless and Aminu hurt them badly though.

I would prefer to keep whiteside as his shot blocking and rebounding are about the only reliable thing this Blazer team has right now.

If we can get love for a first rounder and some scrubs to make salaries match I'd do it.
