How come Kobe with prime Pau, Odom, bynum, artest, and fisher had to be gifted a game 7 victory by the refs?

It has always been
how Kobe fans' evaluation of the 2010 Celtics greatly differed by who faced them. Against LeBron, they are the "old Celtics". Against LA in the Finals? Super team with 4 All Stars. What a triumph! And then an even more successful Celtics team in 2011 goes right back to being "old" when Miami took care of them in 5.
And to answer OP's question, LeBron lost in 2010 for the same reason the 2011 Cavaliers were the worst team in basketball. 1 star teams with listless coaching are never going to succeed in the playoffs.
