If he stays healthy. Gobert might be too though. All NBA the past two years, a DPOTY award and his best still ahead of him.

He's definitely one of the best players in the league and has been for the past 3 years. All-NBA, all Defensive team and DPOTY. Already posted his offensive numbers which put him up with the best players in the league and he's known for D!
5th in blocks
7th in defensive rebound %
3rd in defensive rating
3rd in defensive rebounds
5th in total rebound %
1st in games
2nd in total rebounds
7th in block %
1st in defensive win shares
1st in defensive box plus minus
3rd in blocks
5th in rebounds per game
2nd in win shares per 48
7th in box plus minus
2nd in win shares
5th in value of replacement player
How is he not a top 10 player or top 5? The numbers speak for themselves and his totals per 100 possessions are even more impressive because of the slow pace the Jazz play at.
Center position must have always been weak because it puts him up with Moses, Willis Reed, Ewing for win shares in their first 5 years

The problem is idiots on this forum don't appreciate or understand defense.
Idiots think Luka f#cking Doncic is better than Lebron.
And they sure as hell don't understand the importance or impact of great big man.

hes not Tony Allen but he isnt anywhere close to being one of the best offensive players. Thats like saying Tyson Chandler in 2012 or Deandre Jordan in 2017 were two of the best offensive players thats the class of player he is offensively
he doesnt move the needle much at all on that end.
Hes one of the best screeners and finishers but thats about all he does. He relies on much more skilled and talented offensive players to get the better of his skillset. He cant carry an offense. Utahs been a mediocre/below average offense every year with him outside the year Hayward was playing like an allstar
it was just last series that he got completely thrashed and outplayed by Capela. His efficiency is nice but he didnt have any impact on offense outside of the screens. Hes too easy to gameplan and remove on that end since he cant create, has no onball ability and isnt a passer either

offensive rebounds and put backs. Their whole offense revolves around him
Capela didn't out play him. Harden and Capela out played him. Usually he can guard the screener and the ball handler by himself. He couldn't in that case! Put Capela on the Jazz and Gobert on Houston and Houston is even better and the Jazz are a lottery team.
He's not easy to remove on that end if you space the floor as we saw at the end of Hayward's last season and what we are seeing right now without Rubio and Exum clogging up the works. Averaging 2 assists a game. just had 8 in a game. His post play is getting better. He takes guys off the dribble with his Eurostep.

Thank you for this people think Donovan Mitchell was the only reason Jazzz did okay haha
He chucked 44% last year and 43% this year
He should be thanking Rudy Goatbert

Nuggets/Avs/Broncos.
Re: Joel or Rudy? Embiid or Gobert?
Embiid. Gobert can be underrated if you think he's just a role player. He's also pretty flawed which keeps him from being a true number 1 option IMO. He's basically just a finisher on offense. He needs people to help him create rather than create for himself. Which matters. It works for Utah and he's there best player but on some teams it wouldn't be enough. Setting good screens, getting putbacks, and finishing. There's more to that. A guy like Embiid creates for himself, creates for others. You can count on his offense. You can rely on Gobert defensively, but not as the 1st option offensively.
I have Gobert as the 3rd best C if you think Davis is a PF. 4 if you have Davis as a C. Embiid/Davis/Jokic are all clearly better.

The whole franchise and Hayward should be thanking him. They were tanking when Rudy emerged 4 years ago and have been shit when he hasn't played since.

Very elite at the one side that he's relevant on.
Equally as unelite at the one side he's not.
