. Dante Exum looks like a shell of his rookie self.
defensively. He looks a lot better offensively though he still can't finish or hit an open shot.

Alec Burks weathered benching after benching from Corbin only to be met by a rash of injuries once Quin Snyder took over.
Burks didn't deserve to play as a rookie. He was a selfish gunner much like Lyles and Hood

Enes Kanter had trouble getting extended minutes during the Corbin years
And yet he was able to learn from Jefferson. The idea that development only comes from sucking on an NBA court is wrong

As the starters struggled, some of Utah's best fight Monday came off the bench.
Stop with excuses please! We keep hearing about their incredible depth. He should have stuck with his bench guys more at least the ones that played well that is

With the Jazz trailing by seven in the third quarter, reserves Alec Burks, Dante Exum and Trey Lyles sparked a rally.
Lyles sucked as far as I'm concerned. Sure he hit a couple shots but when you shoot every time you touch the ball a couple are bound to go down. Johnson sucked too. Diaw played well again.

For the people crying for Exum to play because he can't learn on the bench I think he has. The one lay-up he lulled the guy to sleep ala Alec and than blew by him. He was also doing a bit of search dribbling which Hill is so good at. But again even at his best he doesn't get my super excited with his play. I need to see him dominate in the D-league at least once! I be more hopeful.

Snyder has so many personnel choices that he's inevitably going to be second-guessed when his rotation doesn't result in a win
I'm cool as long as he puts guys out there that are generally getting it done he's not. Lyles has mostly sucked! So has Johnson. And Exum. Diaw has had a couple good stretches now at least. Withey has always brought it!

The Jazz eventually will need some kind of dependable rotation as they move into the playoffs.
It will be a very short rotation or Withey will be playing.

Right now, it is evident that the Jazz just need to get through this week. Tuesday's game at Denver, especially, appears almost impossible for a worn-down team. Close games, win or lose, come with an emotional toll. Snyder spoke Monday of the "dog days" of the schedule, and he's right. The Jazz need the upcoming All-Star break to regroup.
Just love the excuses being made before the game is even played! They are deep. Now they need a break?

I've never witnessed anything around here quite like the anxiety about whether Hayward or Rudy Gobert will be picked by the Western Conference coaches. There was no such angst about Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur or Deron Williams a decade or so ago.
Probably because the media and broadcasters and coaches weren't pushing it like now. Doubt Hot Rod was saying he's an all star before he was and I doubt Sloan was going on about it either. Hayward and Favors they've been pushing as stars for years. Okur wasn't a star in my mind.

And I don't discount the theory that if Hayward recognizes he can become an All-Star in Utah, he would be more inclined to stay here.
He said it's all about winning. See ya Gordon if accolades is all you want!

I thought George (Hill) had a really emotional game the other night and expended a lot of energy. Gordon's been doing that more than anyone, maybe in the league," Snyder said. "All those guys were a little drained. It wasn't physically exhausted, but you could tell."
Considering the effort Rudy puts in every night that's disrespectful. He didn't take the night off at GS I know that much. I thought his missed free throws the game before were probably because he was tired

If Rodney Hood were healthy, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jazz just rested some players. Remember, Joe Johnson got the night off nine days ago in a Jazz win, and it's probably time that other Jazz players got the same luxury. On the other hand, they also need every win they can get to try to keep home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
please rest Joe again! Not sure home court means that much when you play almost as good on the road. Being healthy and rested will be bigger.

And to be fair to the All-Star game, they usually value big stats over wins, and value points over everything else.
Not in recent history. Maybe at one time
