Underrated Ballers: Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm, Smush Parker
These guys were quality rotation guys
I'd compare them to Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Eric Snow and Ilgauskas

Re: Underrated Ballers: Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm, Smush Parker
I dunno about yall but i liked luke walton as a player, decent rebounder, mid range J is money. good passer, mid - high IQ at best I think.
Good role player

Very good NBA starter
Re: Underrated Ballers: Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm, Smush Parker
Walton was an okay role player. Mihm had his moments but end of the rotation material. The other two were not even D-League talents.

Re: Underrated Ballers: Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm, Smush Parker
why the hell would you bring this up now Anyway it's not those guys that are underrated, it's phil jackson and coaching in general that's underrated. Laker/Kobe fans should know better considering they know what it's like to have Mike Brown instead of Phil.

Walton has a high basketball IQ, can't say for the rest of the players on the list.

Larry Hughes was an all-star caliber player, had a season averaging 22/6/5 with 2.9 spg (led the league) on the Wizards that made the 2nd round a year before he joined the Cavs
Drew Gooden has been a solid role player for a long time, averaged 14/9 his first year with the Cavs, is still in the league
Big Z was a multiple time all-star, consistent 16/8 player in his prime, one of the better rim protectors in the league at the time.
Eric Snow was a starting PG on the Sixers that made the Finals under Larry Brown, decent passer
All the guys mentioned in the thread title got traded/were let go and had short lived careers. They were medicore role players who would have rode the end of the bench on other teams. It's laughable to compare Kwame Brown to Big Z, or Smush Parker to Eric Snow.

Let's judge them based on their performance that year
They are about comparable
Cavs have a little better balance, but Lakers have a legit bonafide 2nd option in Lamar Odom

They were actually great acquisitions, all being sought after free agents (or draft) at the time.
I remember Laker fans celebrating when they acquired every single one, with even experts stating how good the acquisitions were.

Lamar Odom as a 2nd option
6 players on that Suns squad averaged double digit points against the Lakers, that should let you know how bad the defense was.
Kwame Brown/Chris Mihm as rim protectors
Smush Parker as a starting PG
Yeah, Lakers could have made the WCF in 2006 but it didn't happen. The sequence that led to the Tim Thomas 3 highlights how bad the team was
Kwame gets switched onto Nash, Nash drives inside and the entire defense collapses in, no one bothers to run out to the 3pt line so Nash gets a wide open corner 3 that he usually makes in his sleep
Nash somehow misses and Odom can barely get off his feet as he looks as if he expected it to go in, let's the ball fly over his head
Tim Thomas gets the ball and Kwame just runs at him and gets pump faked, wide open 3
so Kobe is supposed to advance in the Playoffs with his teammates doing this?
