Default All hyperbole aside, Curry is the true successor to MJ's legacy

Curry is having what is quite possibly the greatest offensive season in the history of the sport. His level of dominance as a primarily jump-shooting perimeter player is nothing short of unprecedented, and - up until very recently - inconceivable.

By any metric that you wish to examine, Curry stands alone. His across-the-board statistical domination is Wilt-esque. He's leading his team to the greatest regular season of all-time.

If we go by the so-called "eye test," we see that he's one of the most riveting figures in sports, and already one of the most electrifying players in NBA history. Watching him is less like watching a basketball player than it is like watching an elite gun-slinger of an NFL QB who routinely throws and nails deep bomb Hail Marys.

Watching him make shots like these is one of the most breath-taking forms of entertainment available to us in the world of sport:

The consensus GOAT, Jordan, has left a legacy that has loomed large over the rest of the league in the decades since his retirement, and Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are two legendary players who have both repeatedly been acclaimed as a part of Jordan's lineage of NBA greatness, and they both have to some degree.

But both falter in comparison to Curry, who - unlike Bryant and James - may actually have become a greater player than Jordan ever was, at least on the offensive end. And - unlike Bryant - Curry is no mere Jordan imitation and - unlike James - possesses humanizing qualities that will allow him to transcend the sport like MJ did.

Curry is the superstar the league has been searching for since Jordan unlaced his sneakers for the last time. He's transcending, perfecting, and breaking the game.

Will bump thread when Warriors get bounced in the playoffs and OP ends up looking like a premature d*ckhead.

This is the epitome of hyperbole...

In all seriousness though, this is a hyperbole. No-one is MJ's successor unless they put on a more dominant run that what LBJ put on. LeBron had 4 MVP's as well as two Titles and two FMVP's whereas Curry is at 1 MVP, 1 title, and 0 FMVP. You cannot say he's Jordan's successor when he isn't even LeBron's. Give him time and perhaps he will, but now is far too rushed and is sort of prisoner of the moment, kind of like this article a few years back...

He has a while to catch up to Lebron, but doesn't take away that this season he has been more dominant than any version of Bron.

Jordan was getting GOAT talks as early as 3 or 4 seasons in. Same with Curry now.

Long winded joke of a post..curry is 27 already he has had 2 great seasons he won't have nearly the long staying power of lebron or Kobe and compared to lebron not nearly the all around player. Curry is a great shooter one of the best the game has seen on an ultimate hot streak right now enjoy it while it lasts it won't last forever. Curry would need to play like this another 5 years to even deserve to be mentioned in sentence of lebron Kobe and of course MJ..

This. Plus he would need to win dpoy and mvp in the same year. Not going to happen.

Why would he need to do some arbitrary requirement you set out?

Jordan never led the league in 3 pointers made while being scoring champ. Another requirement for GOAT. Sorry, he is out now, based on some BS I just made up.
