while youre right in saying walton wont get any W/L credited to him, being an interim coach. he still is eligible for COTY per the league.

Coach of the Year is a joke award, so I doubt he cares.
Just look at the list of winners.
Guys win COTY and actually get fired a month later.
Just give it to Byron Scott, no one would care.
