Thibs got his players to play hard. Unfortunately, he also seemed to run them into the ground during practices. Thibs seems like he'll make a great assistant coach, as he did in Boston, but just a decent head coach. Some guys just aren't head coach material.

honestly that would be a game changing hire if the players actually played his defensive intensity like Garnett demanded. All 5 players on the celtics were required to play intense defense at all time or else they were on the bench. They were deep as hell too with guys like James Posey, Brown, Cassell. House..

i dont really see Blake Griffin playing that kind of consistent Defense.

You don't see it b/c you're blinded by old narratives. Blake was one of the best post-defenders in basketball last year by the numbers.

Thibs got the Bulls to 60 wins and kept them extremely competitive when their best player went down. No coach could have gotten more out of that team. If he wants to be an assistant for Doc again then great, I wish them the best but he might be an even better coach than Doc. If he is joining that staff (this could just be a visit among coaching friends) expect Deandre Jordan to win DPoY and the Clippers will make the WCF.

I think the Clippers can have championship potential if this happens. They've already been the best offensive team in the league for the past couple of years but the problem is they're a soft defensive team. If he can get them playing solid on that end then they'll be a contender.

    Kerr needs more help?

Stacked coaching staff. Thibs will probably be there two years then jump at another hc job. Pop steps down from the Spurs and joins as an assistant for the Warriors.
