If you're talking like the quintessential player or players of each era, I'd say: Mikan > Russell and Wilt > Kareem and Dr J > Bird and Magic > Jordan > Duncan, Kobe, Shaq > LeBron. And I think the next generation has started already with Davis and whoever emerges. Probably the next 3-5 draft classes. Durant's longevity will be interesting because technically I could see him falling with Davis and the new generation of players. Kind of like how Shaq was playing well into the 90s, yet he's paired with the dominant players of the 00s.
