Beverley staying home, signs with Houstin
4 years, 25m. $6.25 per
Jonathan Feigen: Beverley said was worried when Dallas was “throwing around big numbers. “I’m just so glad to be back. This is biggest contract of my life.”
Cuban trying to get another Morey gem?
Underrated move here. 2nd team all defense two seasons ago. If he can shoot at a 39-40% clip from the 3pt line at a consistent rate, the rockets are going to have a great year.
Beverely has only been in the NBA three seasons. He's only going to get better.

Re: Beverley staying home, signs with Houstin
Beverley allowed just 0.63 points per isolation possession on defense, per Synergy Sports stats provided to the NBA. That rate put him second behind Chris Paul among point guards and is all the more impressive given how often he was defending the opposing team's best wing player. He was also among the league's elite when defending ball-handlers overall.
Beverley's new deal is in no way onerous, but Houston generally has a rigid valuation of its nonsuperstars. The Rockets want to be players for a third star next to Dwight Howard and Harden, which makes every dollar count

Because Morey has CF thinking that if we don't upgrade a position every year, then something is wrong.
I love his game. Love his defense, and when the whole rockets team is healthy, him and ariza are a perfect fit next to Harden.
I was surprised Houston made it as far as they did without him. The west is loaded with stacked PGs, and Bev can contain them.
