i can respect this opinion, I even kind of agree with it. But the scenario in the op is that both players are on, and Kobe is just the best on-fire scorer of all time.

Show me one season where Kobe comes close to those shooting %?

KD is the GOAT scorer and the GOAT shooter
KD is a great shooter, but his shooting in the playoffs is actually comparable to Kobe.

    So far, 46/34/84 28.9

    Kobe

Lets just take his prime year's.

    2001† L.A. Lakers 16 16 43.4 .469 .324 .821 7.3 6.1 1.6 .8 29.4
    2002† L.A. Lakers 19 19 43.8 .434 .379 .759 5.8 4.6 1.4 .9 26.6
    2003 L.A. Lakers 12 12 44.3 .432 .403 .827 5.1 5.2 1.2 .1 32.1
    2004 L.A. Lakers 22 22 44.2 .413 .247 .813 4.7 5.5 1.9 .3 24.5

    2008 L.A. Lakers 21 21 41.1 .479 .302 .809 5.7 5.6 1.7 .4 30.1
    2009† L.A. Lakers 23 23 40.8 .457 .349 .883 5.3 5.5 1.7 .9 30.2
    2010† L.A. Lakers 23 23 40.1 .458 .374 .842 6.0 5.5 1.3 .7 29.2

    44/34.7/82

Pretty comparable if you ask me.

People act as if Kevin Durant is on a whole another level to Kobe in terms of shooting, he is during the regular season but KD hasn't proven to me that he can translate this to post-season shooting.

N.B. Durant is slightly more efficient and had a much higher TS%.

Prior this year Durant and Lebron had a very comparable TS%.

Durant better long distance shooter but Kobe harder to guard and defend when on fire.

We're doing months now?! Someone post up Curry's best month to compare. I'm sure he's had some good ones, too.

Scenario in the op isn't even a discussion. Kobe, Kobe, Kobe. When dude was on he was just that good.

How old are y'all? It's like you guys started watching basketball in '06. You do know that there are hundreds of MJ's games out there, right? Even if Kobe is on, he's not even close to being a scorer of MJ's caliber when MJ is on.

Bird, Curry, Allen, Miller, etc. are all better or equal shooters.

For the names you mentioned....Its one thing to have great shooting % while putting up numbers like 21pts,24 pts etc.

But in that jan 2014 month KD had 10 consecutive games where he scored 40+....and nearly every one of those games he shot over 50/40/90.

He is an unstoppable force of nature.
