Re: Mozgov travel
It amazes me how sh*tty the nba and its fans have become
You know its bad when people cant handle ONE god damn traveling violation per game
Lets just make it sarcastiball and get rid of any rule that isnt sppealing to the eye... eliminate havkashaq... no more travels... blah blah blah

Like the example Infinite Baskets posted above. IMO that isn't a travel, and that is initially what I thought Mozgov did, but now I realize he moved his foot.
From my understanding no, because he dribblined into it he is free to decided which foot is the pivot and both are availabe.

Technically both are travels. LeBron got away with one, to the benefit of Heat fans, but he did travel. He gathers his dribble, steps with his left foot (one step) and then lands on both feet (second step) and then cannot take another step, which he does with his left foot again.

Had he kept his pivot planted, it would have been a completely legal move. And from the replay it doesn't seem like he really gained much space by lifting the pivot so it ended up being more of a sloppy error than an illegal advantage. A travel's a travel though

It's pretty much an offensive foul every time he goes to the rim, shit never gets called.

Re: Mozgov travel
Why the hell is everyone talking about pivot?
Can you not see him moving both his feet AFTER the hop step? So essentially it's like he hopped twice. That's a travel.
There's no pivoting going on. Just a hop step on 2 feet (stopping motion), then another hop lifting both feet off the ground while he's spinning.
Have you guys ever noticed how when someone isn't moving (i.e. catching the ball on the 3 point line), they can't take any steps before dribbling? That's cause they're not in motion. If someone catches an outlet pass while running theyre allowed to take 2 steps and take a layup (cause they were in motion).

this. people arguing whether it was a travel because he jump stopped into a pivot, but when you do that AND move your pivot foot 6 inches, then it's a travel.
