Default If Harrison Barnes stays as a solid role player and....

...doesn't become a star. Is he a bust?

Not that being a solid role player is a bad thing.. but this dude is a lottery pick... and a lot of us know how heralded he was pre-NBA.

I don't think he'll have the numbers and impact to be an all-star or borderline all-star with this Warriors lineup... unless something crazy happens...

I'm not hating.. I love Barnes.. him and Beal (outside AD) were the guys that I saw as the possible future stars in the '12 class

Bust is too drastic, you usually call people a bust when they are top ranked and end up sucking the D. Greg Oden and Kwame Brown type shit.

This, and some people are just best suited to be an effective role player. No shame in that.

He's already proven to be a far more consistent, reliable and overall greater NBA player than Greg oden

That's why I said that being a solid role player isn't bad.

I'll admit that "bust" might be too harsh... but you have to remember how high everyone was on him since highschool

By that definition Bennett won't be as big of a bust as Oden in a couple years tho

He still has All Star potential. He's 23.

You have to realize how stacked the Warriors are.
If he were on a team in the East as the man he would be an All Star.

Barnes could put up 20 a game playing on a team where he was more featured. I'm not saying the team would be good... yet... but it could happen.

ISH has some 12 year olds who think every player in the lottery is going to be an all star. A bust isn't a player who has a long career as a contributing factor to a teams success like Barnes does.

Interesting comment for someone who still switch Ss with Zs. Fresh Reviewz

Anyway, I understand what you're saying.. but I think I explained in my OP why I think he has to be more than this. And again, I'm not saying he's playing terrible now.

Huh point out where I replaced an 's' with a 'z' dickhead. I asked fresh (who is a 12 year old korean kid by the way which is why his english is atrocious) to review an album I know he would hate to see how he'd review it.

Barnes still isn't a solid role player yet. Yes, he plays good defense but he still tends to disappear often. It's the consistency he needs to bring in for a full season. The reason he's playing decent in these playoffs is because it's a very deep team. He can easily be replaced.

No he isn't a bust, but I don't see him being anything more than a 3&D player.

The number 7 pick playing an important role in the finals a bust?

Not everyone picked in the lottery is supposed to be an all-star.

I would love to have Harrison Barnes on the Blazers. Somehow swing Batum for Barnes (fillers if needed)

Really? I found Barnes to be very consistent this season.
