[QUOTE]On account of the Jazz's youth, Snyder says they remain a moving target as it pertains to what must be added. They need more perimeter shooting, but then, nobody's ready to shut an eye to what Hood and Exum might become, or what a healthy Alec Burks might add to the mix. [URL="http://www.sltrib.com/sports/2595899-155/monson-after-first-year-in-utah"]"We're capable of shooting the ball better with the guys we've got," Snyder says. "We'll get better offensively as guys get more comfortable with each other.

Jazz should be a playoff team. They are two or three players from being one of the best in the league. No reason to have any other expectations.

He's got to be the early favorite for DPOTY. Hard to imagine him not being on the all-defensive team for years to come. He's got a chance to lead in blocks and boards for one of the top teams in the league. Hitting the 15 footer too!

Didn't know he'd improved from 3 so much. They didn't even mention his ability to run the pick and roll. Definitely someone they should have on their radar.

Ante Tomic is leaning toward signing a multi-year contract extension with FC Barcelona, according to sources. The Croatian big man had also the chance to try the NBA with the Jazz but he is more likely penning a rich new deal (4 years?) with the Catalan giants. Sportando

UPDATE: There are rumors now that he might leave Barcelona this summer and maybe go to the NBA orCSKA Moscow, the club in Europe with the most money. It’s really all rumors though and tough to say what is really true. Tomic is easily a NBA rotation player, if not a starter, but he is a uniquely skilled player and the fit needsto be right. Think whatever the opposite of Gobert and Favors are as players. My guess is if Utah didn’t own his rights and he was a free agent he’d already be in the league. If he really wants to come over, maybe he could also be a trade chip if Utah doesn’t see the fit. Salt City Hoops

What went wrong with Utah and Ante Tomic? Could write a whole article on this but to keep it simple: 1. Tomic lives in Barcelona (an awesome city), plays in the best league in Europe on one of the best teams, and makes way more than the NBA minimum (and it used to be way, way more before the Euro went down in value recently). 2. A different GM drafted Tomic so this new Jazz front office regime hasn’t necessarily been tracking his whole career and weren’t the original ones who thought he had a chance at the NBA. At this point, Tomic is the best center in Europe and easily one of the best players. He’s an offensive freak, a master of the mid-roll, who can hit any shot in the paint, dish, and just move to wherever he wants. His biggest improvement has been defensively where he used to be soft liability and now has become quite active and learned how to use his length. He’s easily an NBA rotation player and would be worth giving a few million to a year, just a question of if this Jazz team is the right fit. Salt City Hoops
Jazz need a back-up center which is what he probably is. He's a great passer with a post game. Sounds like he could get more money in the USA. Sounds like a great fit to me.

The Hawks are in need of a strength and conditioning coach as Jeff Watkinson will leave the organization to take a assistant coaching position with the Jazz. Watkinson spent three seasons with the Hawks in the position. He will be reunited with Quin Snyder in Utah. Snyder was an assistant coach with the Hawks last season before leaving to take the head coach position with the Jazz. The two also worked together at Missouri. I see Millsap as an end of the bench defensive specialist/energy guy. If he can start knocking down the 3 he's in the rotation. Hard to see them cutting him. He's too good of a defender and along with Booker and Gobert he was the guy who brought it always.

Ingles looked like a solid 4th wing at the end of the year. I'd be looking to play smaller with him, Maxi G and Hood at the 4 as well and right now Burks is their starting pg in my mind so there are plenty of minutes despite what I keep reading. I'd guess he'll be back but who knows. Maybe somewhere between 2-4 million a year I'd guess but with the cap going up after next year who knows what will happen this summer.

Should be able to get some guys to compete with the non guaranteed guys they already have anyway. Make them earn their spots especially Cooley and Johnson and even Jerrett who I could see getting cut despite guaranteed money.

Looks like they lost another coach. I thought they might be going with more coaches. Maybe some of their guys in Idaho now that they own the team. The only reason I can see them not having guys playing in Idaho is because they want them working with their developmental guys but with most of the games on the weekend you could have guys play a couple games in Idaho and spend the rest of the week with the Jazz. Need to do it this year. No more free rides. Guys need to earn their time on the court.
