Not true. Phil Jackson did not become head coach until 1990. Jordan won three series in 1988 and 1989 and reached the ECF in 89 under Doug Collins. Phil was an assistant coach, but Collins was the undisputed driving influence as far as coaching goes, until Phil took over in 1990.
