Isn't it his left thumb anyway? Don't even see a reason to get surgery. Definitely not worth missing 6-8 weeks.
Regardless,

What's impressed me is that he's become a serviceable 3 point shooter now

Not a doctor, but why cant he get the surgery and play during his recovery period? I mean yeah it might get fvcked up again and require another surgery, but it's not like he isnt risking alot by playing with it already fvcked up.

Not his shooting hand.

Re: LaMarcus Aldridge after putting off surgery
People have been saying his shot looks more on point now that he can't guide it with his injured off-hand.
Hopefully he carries this knowledge over after the surgery. How fortuitous.

That's interesting...might be some truth behind it.

He was great tonight, I still think though as I've thought all season that the Blazers are a team that will bow out in the first round.

Mmmmm...I dunno, at full health they're a top 10 defensive and offensive team, huge improvement in defense from last year. Depends on who they match up with, but IMO they have a decent shot at the WCF

I just think they still have a very weak bench, (which the Spurs really exposed last year in the playoffs) and they really have to have Aldridge put up huge numbers.
He was phenomenal last night but I have to think that thumb will bother him more and more as the season marches on.
Could be wrong, that's just my prediction.

Definitely not a doctor.
You need time to heal after surgery.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Meyers Leonard are Portland's best three point shooters. This is a team with two guards that are top three point shooters in the league in regard to makes. I think Matthews is number one in the league in makes.
That to me is insane. If Aldridge can raise his FG to over 50 he's be pretty close to being in the 50/50/90 club.
Currently: 46/52/87

If we run into the Spurs we are done. Memphis too. I think we can beat any other team in the league in a 7 game series. Portland in the playoffs is locked in team but the problem is Spurs have better coaching. Memphis is just too good defensively.
