Watch the first 2 minutes of this video and look how efficient he is when he runs the ball down the lane and either lays it up or dishes it out...idk what tempts him to shoot so many jumpers when his inside game is on point.

If the Rockets were smart they would have put a no three pointer clause in his contract

He played great once he was benched.
12 and 6 on 6/9 shooting.

Re: Josh Smith benched
Was he really starting anyways? that's nuts if true, he's been with the Rockets 5 games? takes time to work into a new system, don't just throw a guy into a new system with hardly any practice to sink or swim...
this is where he should have been since the rockets acquired him

Not to sound like a broken record, but that's kind of Smith's thing. He'll have certain nights where all his sweeping push hooks and float runners fall - and it'll be a pleasant surprise. But then he'll go three weeks shooting 34% while shooting the same shots.
Just the same, there were nights where he'd have a nice, steady tempo push that led to an Andre Drummond lob, and then other moments where he'll drive and kick to an open shooter well. But then all that work would ultimately be undone by the poor decisions and turnovers that occurred in between.
His game log really is an interesting sight. It took him 24 games this year to shoot over 50% in at least one game. But then you'll see some good ones toward the end of his Detroit stay - they just happened to be surrounded by the same inconsistency we've seen so far in Houston: http://www.basketball-reference.com/.../gamelog/2015/
