Good college starter
is Durant/Westbrook the new Shaq/Kobe?
In terms of being hugely debatable as to who the better player on the team is.
Its been argued for years over who the best star during the shaq kobe era was and now days everybody argues about who the alpha between westbrook and durant

2003-on.
People can go full revisionist mode all they want, but look at any game from the 2003 and 04 season, people were calling Kobe the best player on the Team.

Same people that gave Shaq his 3rd straight Finals MVP? What about their own coach saying Kobe was refusing to take a back seat to Shaq and it cost them another Finals win in 2004?

Last time Shaq won FMVP was 2002.
So what the **** are you talking about?

Westbrook is definitely the Kobe in this comparison, because of his boneheaded mistakes and unmitigated tunnel-vision at the end of ball games. They haven't won anything yet, but RIGHT NOW, OKC is the 2002-03 and on Laker teams, where there's a power struggle (save the feuding) as to who the best player REALLY is on this team.
Personally? I would still take Durant because of his outrageous efficiency, better rebounding, and, to me, better playmaking while mostly playing off-ball.
OKC is very likable though. A big difference here. If there is anyone that doesn't cheat the fans out of excitement (and effort), its these guys.

Using your logic, when was the last time Kobe won a championship without Fisher?

I see westbrook as the kobe as well. for different reasons though. Its starting to become increasingly obvious that westbrook wants the alpha title in OKC. He tries to take the big shots. he has the ball alot more.
The difference because westbrook/durant and shaq/kobe is shaq started as the better player and kobe eventually became the better player. I just dont see westbrook out doing durant. Durants not going to get fat and slow.
