I know Houston is hobbled with injuries and he's been forced to play more minutes, but I'm wondering how a catch-and-shoot player can miss that many shots.
People forget that Ariza wasn't known as a three point shooter when he first started out his career. He was that guy dunking on everybody with no jumper when he was in his 20s.

Ariza's only 29 and has already lost all that athleticism he had when he was in his early 20s.

With Ariza on the bench, the Rockets surrender a 107.3 points per 100 possessions mark, a disastrous amount. With Ariza on the floor, that mark drops to just 95.3, allowing 12 points per 100 possessions fewer -- a massive differential. The offense is six points better per 100 possessions as well.

Yeah perimeter defense and man to man defense is his strongest skill. That was one of the biggest reasons why I wanted Rondo on the Rockets, because a pass first point guard would get him much better looks at scoring.

Definitely an underrated reason for his current shooting slump. He's shooting almost 8 3's a game as well, which is about 75% of his total shots, so he probably could do with being a bit more picky too. He's playing both ends though, so it's not like he's become a shitty offensive option and disappearing on D, so he still has his uses out there.
