Best coaches so far
Steve Kerr- But he also inherited a stacked team.
Joerger- see comment above.
Terry Stotts- Minimal changes, actually a much better bench.
Carlisle- better supporting cast.
For me the top 4 are.
1. Kevin McHale- Im a Lakers fan but this guy has done a pretty good job esp after the injury of his 2nd best player, beating Dallas and Knicks etc.
2. Dwyane Casey- Toronto has a pretty good system with no superstars at all.
3. Mike Malone. Kings has been pretty good esp after losing arguably their best PG, Thomas in the summer.
The best coach so far is Randy Whitman.
9-3 with their 2nd best player just playing 3 games so far. But yes, their schedule has not been tough tho.
Disappointing coaches so far.
SVG, Monty Williams and Byron Scott.

Re: Best coaches so far
Frank Vogel definitely deserves to be mentioned for the work he's done with the ultra depleted Pacers.

new team, lots of egos, lack of defensive personnel, everybody gunning for them.
Doc rivers should be leading the bad coaches line from the teams with expectations. Scott brooks is always a favorite. Kobe the GOAT coach for tanking, giving it everything for the franchise. GOAT laker.

Lebron has been disappointing, but player coaches have it much harder.
Weird Rotations, no defense and stagnant offense. A basketball savant like Lebron should not have these problems.

.
I think both Kings and Suns fans would strongly disagree, the reason they are decent is cause they let go of Thomas who was holding the team back for the past 3 years.

Us Kings fans will agree, we didn't want to resign Thomas. Collison has done a better job this season then Thomas ever did.

Yes yes, Vogel, Spo and Brooks for what they have done with what they have so far, they are doing a great job.
And yes, Rivers and Blatt have been disappointing.

Re: Best coaches so far
Doc's struggles make me think that maybe he was never a good coach, he just had great assistants. First Thibodeau in Boston then Gentry for his first year in LA. Those two are proven head coaches and without them he's floundered
