Bryant was an elite level athlete for sure. But comparing him to the likes of MJ, LeBron, McGrady, and Vince Carter? Those guys were fraks.

i think kobe's overall athleticism compares to vince and tmac, but not wade, durant, or lebron.

i base this on the eye test, but also the the dunk stats show kobe dunking as much as vince and tmac, but not as much as wade, durant and lebron - there's a clear difference there, and the correlation to athleticism seems obvious.

I`ve been critical of Bean a lot of times, but today I`ll just raise him for reaching a special individual milestone. It`s honestly a great achievement, by a great player. Congrats to him and his fans & stans.

Kobe was a little more athletic than T-Mac I feel even though he was few inches taller than Kobe with great athleticism.

i remember the 35 year old jordan stuffing kobe's crossover several times.. not sure if he learned how to defend it after iverson got him or what, but kobe couldn't get the crossover on jordan.





i like kobe's style of scoring.... but he scored and played more like a small guard around the rim and taking it to the basket compared to Jordan - so kobe's shots at the rim often looked more finesse like tony parker/kyrie irving-style than physically overpowering.

Otoh, Jordan scored more like a forward or big man around the rim with the elite guard ability and superior quickness mixed in.. just more effective overall.

many players in the 80's and early 90's were more effective/efficient...the whole league was more efficient.....just look at FG%....

the style of play especially defensively was played alot different....much like the 50's and 60's.....compared to the 80's and 90's...

Peak Kobe was arguably more athletic than prime LeBron which makes it even more surprising why Kobe never touched 50% FG shooting
