The Rockets bench...
I didn't know it was this bad
Isaiah Canaan
Jason Terry
Francisco Garcia
Jeff Adrian
Joey Dorsey
Worst bench in the league? I don't see how they make the playoffs in a historically stacked conference with such bad depth.

Re: The Rockets bench...
Even if they make it, they're going to get bounced. They're just not that good.

Re: The Rockets bench...
I told y'all they won't even make the playoffs. This team is a disaster and will desperately miss Parsons/Lin/Asik.
Inn before Smoove meltdown incoming.

Re: The Rockets bench...
It's okay though, they have bench players in their starting lineup as well. So their bench isn't that bad.

Their starting five is nothing special either apart from Dwight and Harden.

Fixed.
Bev would only start in Houston with Harden's terrible D. At BEST a role player.
Harden is the worst starting SG in the league defensively.
T Jones is one of the worst SF's in the league against above average PF's.
and Ariza is a good defender. Above average, but a downgrade offensively over Parsons.
McHale will either be gone by All Star Break or the end of the season.

Their starting unit can play solid defense.
Just an example against my mavs:
Beverly guards Ellis
Ariza guards Parsons
Howard guards Dirk
so you have Harden on Nelson and Jones on Tyson
it could work

Re: The Rockets bench...
We are still gonna make the playoffs unless Dwight goes out for an extended amount of time.

Good college starter
Re: The Rockets bench...
Perennial first round exit for years to come...at least until they get rid of McHale. They could be the 86 Celtics and McHale would find a way to lose in the first round. Good thing he wasn't coaching them at the time.

Re: The Rockets bench...
3 of the 5 guys you listed will most likely be 3rd stringers.
The bench rotation will probably look something like this...
PG: Ish Smith - Nice passer. Not a good shooter, but he can penetrate very well.
SG: Jason Terry/Troy Daniels - If Terry still has some left in the tank, he can provide some 3's. Same for Troy Daniels. He was shooting lights out in the playoffs.
SF: Kostas Papanikolaou - He came over from Europe. So far in the preseason he's been impressive and he plays very good defense. It's only preseason though
PF: Donatas Motiejunas - He's been with the Rockets for a while now, His game has improved every year. The guy is 7 feet tall and has a pretty smooth post game.
C: Tarik Black/Joey Dorsey - Black has been a nice in the preseason so far. He had 10 points and 15 rebounds last night. Joey Dorsey has yet to play in the preseason, but he's known as a nice defensive player and rebounder.

Re: The Rockets bench...
Yeah, they really ****ed themselves with the departures of Parsons, Asik, and Lin... Ariza is the only valuable return they received.
Their 2nd best player is a cancerous blackhole.

That's Sixers level bad for a bench, but at least the Sixers are losing on purpose.

Re: The Rockets bench...
I like Papanikolaou (sp?) but outside of that their bench is horrid. Their #3-5 guys in the starting lineups would be bench players on most playoff teams too outside of Ariza probably. Just not a fan of this team at all and wouldn't be shocked to see them land oustide of a playpff spot in the West.
