Default 2012 OKC thunder were a very good team

Looking back at this team they had James Harden, a healthy Kevin Durant, solid big man in Ibaka, and a rising star in Russell Westbrook. It sucks that they have a terrible front office. They were just one decent Center from being a potential NBA Dynasty.

They also beat some former champions in the playoffs the Lakers, The Mavericks and the Spurs. The heat were just a motivated and hungrier team after they were beaten by Dallas exactly one year later.

Yeah lol destroyed The mavs 2011 champs. The lakers in 5 2010 champs and backdoor swept the spurs.

And these guys were rising stars back then. They all are mvp calibre players now.

Goes to show that 2012 Miami team, when actually healthy, was a lot better than many give it credit for. They would've walked over the Pacers and Celtics as well if they'd had Bosh playing (it was such a huge drop off when he was injured because he was the only inside presence they had). Hard to beat good teams with 2 playmaking scorers and not much else (especially when none of the shooters show up), no matter how great players those two guys are.

imagine if Harden didn't choke and the Heat didn't shoot lights out from 3.

They were an overrated, ref-reliant team that got exposed when the officials swallowed their whistles in the Finals. They posed no threat whatsoever to the Heat - proof that they didn't deserve to be in the Finals. That WCF with the Spurs is still one of the worst officiated series in NBA history. Mavs and Spurs both owned the Heat. Thunder got stomped on in embarrassing fashion...and that was with homecourt advantage too.

They might have beat Miami, had Harden taken the Finals seriously. Robbed in Game 2 as well.

I think it comes down to them being too young, against an experienced Heat squad.
