Dude is gonna bust. Especially in basketball hell Minnesota? Good Lord.
Never said anything about Lavine. Aside from messing with Cocaine80s, I think he'll be a fine NBA player.

And you didn't see that, because Bennett was coming off an injury which severely compromised his conditioning. He didn't play in the Summer League last year, and he averaged 9 ppg on 35% shooting in the preseason. He sucked all around last year. Which means that him looking like a totally different player this summer is for real.

It's not that uncommon...players can bounce back from shit rookie seasons. It's very possible, and you had to have watched Bennett this summer to see it.

And market has nothing to do with it. It's the talent around you that matters. And Rubio, Wiggins, Lavine, Dieng, Shabazz, etc is a shitton of good young talent that can make a bad situation very good very quickly.

That should be their starting lineup, and those 5 guys should get the most minutes. That's the core of the future with the highest ceiling, give them burn from the start so 3-4 years from now they'll have the experience and chemistry to do some damage. Respecting Pek and KMart and all those guys has absolutely no benefit, all it does is push the team further and further from contention by putting off developing the guys that actually matter..if the vets are pissed, ship their asses out or let them walk.
That's what Flip should have done. You either try to be really good or bottom out. You basically have to do the latter after sending out your best player (who happens to be considered top 10-12 in NBA) on a mediocre squad.

He should have tried to trade Pek to Thunder prior to draft for Perkins + Thabeet + salary filler for at least their #21 (if not #29 also- could have thrown in this year's 2nd to give the Thunder something else). In Love trade, should have insisted on Martin/ non-guaranteed deals (throw in anybody as filler) swap, then sent those to LAC for Dudley and a first. Brewer and Buddinger (if he opts in) at least become expirings (I think) for 2015-2016 season to at least try to facilitate trades. Both those guys shouldn't get minutes over any young guys, including Shabazz at first.

I mean Philly might end up being the joke of the league 5 years from now with Hinkie's experiment potentially blowing up in his face, but you can see the potential in all those picks & young talent he's hoarded. Jason Richardson is the only bad contract and he's expiring this year.

its been widely reported that the woles dont want to tank, and the fact that they went after klay thompson (a proven commodity) and that they traded for thad shows that.

they want to stay competitive while rebuilding. they may be naive, but i do admire them for not tanking.

its supposed to be a competitive sport, some people have too much pride and respect for the game to tank, and they should be respected for that.

So then they have to make the playoffs in the Western Conference and try and win a series or 2. That's competitive, IMO. They aren't going to that.
