Default How is Scott Brooks not considered an elite coach?

some people really underestimate this guy as a coach.
Let me give you some info bout this genius.

The years hes coached this squad, they have improved up to 2013 (westbrook injury). From his first year as a coach, he missed the playoffs with a 22-47 record which is bad. From there however, unlike other coaches who would fail (cough spo), he has improved every year up till 2013.
    2009: lost in first round
    2010: lost conf finals
    2011: lost finals
2012: lost second round (westbrook injury)
2013: lost conf finals to a genius pop + partial ibaka injury

What coach can say he has significantly improved his team every year?

He has proved he can develop players. Guys like Jeff green, westbrook, harden, ibaka, durant, jackson would NOT be the players they were without brooks. Unlike other coaches who minimize talent, brooks does the opposite, rather Maximizing to their full growth.

Let me give you a list of the coaches brooks has beat in a 7 game series:
    George Karl (elite)
    Lionel hollins-twice (elite)
    rick carlisle (elite)
    Phil Jackson (GOAT)
    Pop (genius)
    mchale
    Dave Joerger (rising coach)
    doc (elite)

In all these cases, brooks has outcoached all of them!

The thunder have always throughout the years been an elite and defensive team with brooks, he understands their game and always makes them a contender. Westbrook, and durant know this, which is why they want him to stay. The main problem with okc, is they have no superstar that can help them in closing moments. Durant aint no champion, neither is westbrook. Phil had jordan, spo had lebron, okc needs that clutch guy who can make the big baskets, not trip in the final play and get shut down by a 6'0 midget.

It's hard to suck when you have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Do you also think Spo is a legit HOF coach?

you do realize spo had lebron in his prime years right? Brooks had durant and westbrook from their rookie seasons. He helped mature and develop them into the players they are today. Its not like Spo at all.

His offensive strategy & rotations are pretty whack. He's basically what Mike Brown was to Cleveland during the LeBron James era.

His offensive strategy and rotations are terrible. That iso offense is never going to win a title. I feel he's the biggest reason they haven't won a title yet. How is he an elite coach? Most Thunder fans I talk to can't wait to see him fired. And I think most people don't consider him an elite coach.

his offensive plays are not as bad as everyone thinks. The thunder are always ranked a top offensive team, throughout the league. Also, brooks is more about defensive and talks about it a whole lot more.

The coach is always the scapegoat for when a super talented team fails to win a title. At the end of the day, the game is ultimately won by players. It's not like the Thunder have been getting blown off the floor by the teams that have eliminated them the past few years. Despite Westbrook's injury in 2013 Brooks had the Thunder in position to sweep Memphis, but Durant just couldn't close the deal. Same thing with the Spurs series this year. Brooks had them in position to at least force a game 7, but Durant couldn't hit an open 3 to tie the game in the final seconds of overtime. The best Brooks can do is put you in position to win, but he can't turn Durant into a closer.

Durant, Westbrook, and Harden were all top 4 picks...Durant was pretty much penciled in as a scoring champ before he even played a minute in the NBA. Was Lebron developed into the player he is today because of the brilliance of Paul Silas, Brendan Malone, and Mike Brown?

I understand that as well. Like Spo couldn't stop LeBron from choking in 2011, but he did. Durant had a mediocre playoffs last year especially compared to how he was in the regular season. But I've seen enough Thunder games to say his offensive strategy and rotations are bad.

So creepy. And this dude w/ his multiple accounts actually thought he could fool people w/ what his agenda is.

It's too late for that. Stop obsessing over Durant. We understand you are infatuated with Slim Reaper.
