What about the 16 or so times when they didn't play the Bulls?
And how would that Jazz team fare against the Heat?

He's only played 16 seasons, dude. I believe 1 of which was cut short due to a severe injury. So 15.

Very impressive longevity. Maybe the best longevity ever.
Truthfully, I don't have a huge problem if you want to rank Malone higher. You may be right and I may be biased.

Head scratcher, dude. Lebron's unwillingness to take more shots certainly didn't help.
Plus, the Spurs were on of the best passing teams I have ever seen.

better scorer.
Malone's career averages are lower because he played until his 40s, a very long and a consistent career in terms of production
for 11 straight seasons, he averaged 27 or more points per game
from 87-98 regular season
27.6 ppg 10.9 rpg 3.5 apg 1.5 spg 0.9 bpg on 53%FG, 59%TS, 25.4 PER
87-98 Playoffs
27.1 ppg 11.5 rpg 3 apg 1.4 spg 0.8 bpg on 47%FG, 53%TS, 22.7 PER
Nowitzki NEVER averaged 27 ppg for an NBA season, his rebounding and assist numbers are also inferior, TS% and PER are pretty much identical for the two, though Dirk's numbers are better in the Playoffs, but Malone was better in the Finals.
Though everyone says Heat won the 06 Finals because of Wade getting so many calls, it would have been a lot closer had Dirk shot better than 39% from the field and 25% from 3, Malone's production is more consistent, though he did screw up in crunch time of the 98 Finals Game 6...
Overall I'd say it's pretty close, Dirk obviously has the edge with the 2011 championship run, Malone has the edge with his longetivity, rebounding, scoring, passing.
Personally, I think Malone is the better player, but Dirk's had the better career. Championship >>>
