Basketball is a two way game. That makes the difference.

Yep. Duncan was an elite offensive option/anchor (he was basically the entire offense of the 00-03 Spurs) and incredible defensive anchor.

Magic was a God-like offensive player, but he was very clearly below average on defense.

I personally trust the two way player more. It gives you more options for success. And, as far as the West goes, Duncan's competition was fiercer. I was astounded at the number of sub-500 teams Magic's Lakers faced, even after the first round. Of course the Finals competition isn't comparable, so it somewhat evens out.

Yeah, it's all about preference with those four. Though I will say Bird's very short career stops me from seeing him at the top of that list.

I'd go Duncan/Magic/Shaq/Bird personally. Maybe even Magic first depending on the day.

Elite peak, GOAT tier NBA cultural significance, near unrivalled BBIQ in NBA history imo, ruthless competitor, bum back.


Just wait 5-10 more years when probably Lebron and possibly Durant start realistically wedging their way in.
